How To Add Shelf in Netapp Filer

To add SAS shelf,

 

1.power on the shelf and set the shelf id and power off

2.we can add online, to the sas adapter port. (cluster we need to connect as a stack(multipath), so that each filer will see all the shelf)

3. once you connected just power on

4. 'sasadmin shelf' command to see the shelf on filer.

To add FC shelf,

1.power on the shelf and set the shelf id and power off

2.configure the chosen fc port (0a/0b) as a initiator (fcadmin config  -t initiator 0a)

3.then reboot the filer to take effect, once filer comes up just power on the fc shelf 

4. 'fcadmin device_map' command to see the shelf on the filer.
